How Trials Survivors Compares

How Trials Survivors compares to Vampire Survivors and Soulstone Survivors: manual aim, trial floors, constellation builds, and who should play.

How Trials Survivors Compares

If you already play Vampire Survivors, Soulstone Survivors, or Halls of Torment, this page explains what feels familiar — and what is deliberately different.

Feature Trials Survivors Vampire Survivors Soulstone Survivors
Primary combat Manual-aim primary + auto secondaries Fully automatic weapons Mostly automatic with class kits
Run structure Trial objectives every floor Timed survival waves Maps + objectives + crafting
Build identity Constellation patrons + fusion evolutions Weapon evolutions + passives Runes, weapons, skill trees
Meta progress Relics, Cat Coins, Codex, Fate Dice PowerUps / unlocks Deep permanent trees
Endgame loop Unfair+ / Incremental Endless (0.1.8.7+) Modifiers / endless modes High difficulty + bosses
Team size / tone 2-person Angry Wisp, dense cosmic hordes Iconic indie survivor template Larger content RPG hybrid

What Makes It Different

Angry Wisp leans into manual aim, trial objectives, and constellation-shaped fusion paths instead of pure AFK screen clear.

Manual-aim primary

Your main spell follows the cursor. Secondaries still auto-target, so the game rewards elite focus without abandoning survivor comfort.

Trial-driven floors

Each floor is a Survival, Extermination, Escort, Totem, Ritual, or Purification Well challenge — not only a timer.

Constellation + fusion identity

Patrons steer your upgrade pool. Secret fusions like Storm Orb Galaxy define endgame more than random weapon soup.

Relic meta + Codex

Cat Coins, fox merchant relics, Fate Dice, Constellation Ban, and Hub Codex create a collection loop between runs.

Who Should Play

Great if you want…

Dense hordes, aim skill expression, short trial objectives, and a lightweight EA price with frequent patches from a focused two-person team.

Maybe skip (for now) if you want…

Full co-op today, a finished 1.0 content list, or a purely AFK auto-battler with zero cursor aim. Co-op is planned before 1.0; EA is still evolving weekly.
