Trials Survivors Guide

Beginner guide, controls, Skill Opacity hotkeys, demo vs Early Access comparison, and Angry Wisp roadmap for Trials Survivors.

Beginner Guide

Your first run follows a chain of cosmic Trials set by constellation patrons. Each completed trial grants experience, upgrade cards, and sometimes relics. Understanding the loop early saves hours of failed runs.

1. Pick a forgiving combo

Start with Arcanist + Libra or Ranger + Libra. Both pairs offer consistent upgrade cards; Libra also unlocks the Sword Fall line from 0.1.8.0.

2. Read trial objectives first

Survival rewards AoE and movement. Extermination needs single-target focus. Purification Well wants dense kills near the well. Check the banner before your first upgrade.

3. Upgrade one spell line deeply

Spreading upgrades across four spells weakens evolution triggers. Focus two spells early, then chase evolutions. Track finds in the Hub Codex.

4. Invest in relic capacity

Leveling has no cap and increases how many relics you can equip. Spend Cat Coins at the fox merchant. Equip Lifesteal before long Endless climbs.

5. Use Fate Dice wisely

Default Fate Dice were raised to 5. Re-roll brackets for fusions, or spend 3 dice on Constellation Ban to shape your pool.

6. Unlock Endless the right way

Endless Mode (0.1.8.7+) requires Unfair+ or Incremental. Clear Unfair+ first, then climb Incremental tiers. Bring sustain — Monster Health always appears on Endless cards.

Controls & Input

Trials Survivors differs from traditional Survivor-likes because your primary spell requires manual mouse aim while secondary spells auto-target nearby enemies. Movement and positioning are as important as build choices.

Manual Aim vs Auto-Target

Hold your aim on elite enemies and dense clusters for maximum primary spell value. Secondary spells fire automatically. Toggle click-to-attack in settings; holding attack when switching from auto to targeting is fixed as of 0.1.8.3.

Controller Support

Controller support improved across 0.1.5–0.1.7 (PS4/PS5, Legion Go). Full keyboard control and input remapping arrived in 0.1.6. Skill Opacity uses I / O keys. Mouse and keyboard remain best for precise manual aim.
